It carries out administrative services such as circulate, publish, certify, and advertise the laws and regulations of the government of Puerto Rico, issue licenses for the use of professions regulated by the State, process passports for the citizens of U.S.A, organize all government related protocol matters, and keep a record of the government posts appointments made by the Chief Executive. It also publishes the proclamations issued by the Secretary of State and assists people visiting Puerto Rico for research or educational purposes through the Department’s Cultural Exchange and Technical Cooperation section.
